Steve McGuinness, Chair of the APCC, shares his thoughts on the Association’s purpose, its growing influence, and the vital role our members play in shaping the future of compliance consultancy.
In his message, Steve reflects on how the APCC has evolved over the years — now representing around 150 member firms and indirectly supporting more than 18,000 regulated firms across the UK. This reach makes the Association a significant voice within the compliance landscape, advocating for higher standards and stronger collaboration across the sector.
He also highlights the increasingly close working relationship between the APCC and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Through ongoing dialogue, shared initiatives, and constructive feedback, the APCC helps ensure that consultants and the firms they support fully understand regulatory expectations and can continue to raise the quality of compliance standards industry-wide.
“We’re here to improve the quality of compliance standards,” Steve says. “We want firms to see APCC membership as a badge of trust — proof that our members understand what they’re doing and are committed to doing it well.”
