To qualify for membership, the firm must provide compliance consultancy* services to organisations regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and or the Prudential Regulation Authority in the UK, and has, or intends to have, more than one client at any one time.
Receipt of 2 satisfactory references from regulated firms, for whom the applicant has provided services, and can verify the firms work.

Compliance consultancy refers to the professional service of advising organisations—particularly those in regulated sectors—on how to understand, implement, and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Compliance consultants help firms navigate complex regulatory environments by (but not limited to):
- Interpreting and applying relevant legislation (e.g. FCA, PRA, AML, ESG, GDPR etc.)
- Designing and reviewing internal compliance frameworks
- Conducting risk assessments and audits
- Supporting regulatory reporting and remediation
- Providing training and strategic advisory services
- Preparing firms for regulatory change or scrutiny
The role is especially critical in sectors such as financial services, where regulatory expectations are high and evolving rapidly.

Affiliates
Affiliates
Affiliation is available for firms providing products and or services to compliance consultancy firms or to their clients (businesses regulated by the FCA).
Our ‘Affiliate Directory’ provides services from accountants, solicitors, software providers etc. and other businesses specialising in FCA regulated firms. Our aim is to provide our members and their clients (regulated firms) with a comprehensive information resource for all their needs.
The firm agrees to abide by the following:-
Affiliate benefits include:
- Brand recognition amongst our members and the broader APCC community.
- Opportunity to direct market and present webinars/round tables/events to APCC Members.
- A corporate member can invite an Affiliate to attend a working group (however not for the purpose of a sales pitch)
- Use of APCC Affiliate logo.
- Listing on the APCC’s website in a dedicated section, with company information, logo, contact details and click through to Affiliates’ websites.
- First refusal on sponsorship opportunities e.g., networking events, conferences and other events (where there would be no conflict with the presenter and their organisation) giving you the opportunity to have a stand at the event and directly market to delegates;
- The APCC Board can invite an Affiliate to speak at it’s events.

In order to develop the relationship between the APCC and external professional parties, and to promote the common endeavour of professionalism, the APCC encourage Strategic Partners to establish a mutually beneficial partnership for the benefit of respective parties. Strategic Partner benefits include:
- Exchange of relevant information for each party’s website.
- A collaborative announcement detailing the arrangement and the benefits to be derived from the alliance for members and other coverage on our membership portal and social media channels as required relative to the joint activities the organisations undertake.
- Identification of projects and initiatives on which both parties can work together to deliver.
- An exchange of discounts for both parties for agreed items, e.g. events/course costs etc. where applicable.

1. Who can join APCC as a Corporate Member?
Any firm that provides compliance consultancy services to organisations regulated by the FCA and/or PRA in the UK may apply, provided it either already serves or intends to serve more than one client simultaneously. Your firm must also supply two satisfactory references from regulated firms you’ve worked with and commit to abide by our Memorandum & Articles of Association and our Code of Conduct.
2. What exactly is “compliance consultancy” in APCC’s context?
Compliance consultancy means advising regulated organisations on how to understand, implement, and maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. That can include:

4. What’s the difference between Corporate Members, Affiliates, and Strategic Partners?

Corporate Members are firms offering compliance consultancy to regulated organisations (the core constituency).

Affiliates are service providers (e.g. lawyers, accountants, software vendors) whose clients include APCC members or their regulated clients.

Strategic Partners are external professional bodies or organisations aligned with APCC’s mission, collaborating on projects, exchanging expertise, and jointly promoting professionalism.

5. How do I apply, and how long does the process take?
Simply choose the correct membership type, click “Apply”, and complete the online form. You’ll need to submit your firm’s details, references, and agree to our governance documents. Once submitted, we’ll review your application (including checking the references). The turnaround time depends on how promptly references respond, but we aim to process applications in no more than 10 business days.
