Hourglass is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to calling time on the harm, abuse and exploitation of older people. We have over 30 years’ experience and expertise dealing with the physical, sexual, financial/economic, psychological, domestic abuse and neglect of older people.

Every year, over 2.7 million people are affected by the abuse of older people in the UK, with the vast majority of cases involving some element of financial/economic abuse. Hourglass exists to end all forms of abuse of older people and promote safer ageing for all.

Our services include:

• UK-wide 24/7 Helpline offering free, confidential and impartial advice, including free text message, email and online instant messenger services.
• Community Response Officers including Independent Domestic Violence Advisers, Independent Sexual Violence Advisers and Domestic Abuse Support Workers.
• One to one support with dedicated case workers.
• Europe’s only Knowledge Bank free for users to access advice, guidance, support and data on the abuse of older people and safer ageing.
