The APCC is active in enhancing the professional standards of compliance consultants and is recognised as a trade body by the FCA and other regulators. This provides our members with significant benefits in terms of direct access to the Regulators as well as business leads.  The APCC often works in conjunction with the FCA to pilot or test new initiatives, and we also provide with valuable feedback on specific subjects as requested by them.

20 Nov PS2 Working Group Call

I updated the group that the email had been sent to the FCA and a follow up call placed this morning. I will circulate the response as soon as it becomes available.

It was brought to the group’s attention that the new approach document does not specify a requirement to appoint a MLRO but that the requirement is in place by implication and that the appointee would be expected to be sufficiently senior and knowledgeable to undertake the role.
