01 Aug PS 22/10: Strengthening our financial promotions rules for high-risk investments and firms approving financial promotions

We have received the below from the FCA.

I am writing to let you know that today at 10am, we will publish our Policy Statement, PS22/10: Strengthening our financial promotion rules for high‑risk investments and firms approving financial promotions. We are sending this to you under embargo until publication at 10am.

We received 66 responses to our consultation, from a wide range of industry stakeholders. Thank you very much for all of your insightful feedback during the consultation process.

We have made a number of targeted amendments to the consultation proposals, in response to the feedback received. A summary of the key changes we’re making is included in Table 1 on page 8.

This includes amendments to the implementation period. The rules relating to the main risk warning will come into force on 1 December 2022, and all other measures will come into force on 1 February 2023.

We’d like to continue the conversation on these measures. We will be running sessions for trade bodies and affected firms in the coming months, to help industry prepare for implementation. We will be in touch very soon with invites.
